*****
The Woodcellar is THRILLED to announce our debut show with Tarzano!
BIO:
"Acoustic Mountain Soul. It's Born in the mountains and raised in the soul.
Born Adam Carl Smith at Community Hospital in Durango, CO in the late 70's, Tarzano grew up in the San Juan mountains around Durango and Silverton, Colorado.
He started playing music at the age of 14 with friends in several iterations of duos and bands, forming up with his best friends and some college students they met to form BlackHoney in 1998. They would go on to be one of Durango's most exciting bands, and they moved to Denver in 2003 to try their hand at the next level. Life happened, and while everyone is still connected to this day, BlackHoney disbanded not long after. Tarzano stayed in Denver and joined the Bluegrass Rock powerhouse known as Oakhurst.
With Oakhurst, Tarzano toured internationally, sharing stages, cruise ships and bills with names like John Mayer, Lynyrd Skynryd, The Barenaked Ladies, Ekoostik Hookah, Leftover Salmon, Umphprey's McGee, Gaelic Storm, Guster and Greensky Bluegrass to name a few. Multiple European tours, playing 250 shows a year and recording 3 albums with Oakhurst had a profound impact on his professionalism and developing his chops After leaving the band, he joined the Kansas rock band The Deedles for a while touring the Midwest and Rocky Mountains, before moving back to Denver, where he would fall into a pretty dark place of addiction and depression. He found a new life in recovery, and is now clean, sober, and full of fire.
His musical influences range from the Grateful Dead, Widespread Panic and My Morning Jacket, to Leo Kottke, John Hartford, John Prine and The Avett Brothers. At heart, he's a rock and roller growing up on the sounds of Black Sabbath, Metallica, The Allman Brothers, Pearl Jam and Faith No More.
Today, Acoustic Mountain Soul music has come into its own, incorporating the elements of the music he grew up with and music he's still discovering. Mostly, it's the sound of the lived experience of someone who has been to hell and back, bringing water to those still suffering. It is music that will make you laugh, cry, dance, hug and feel like you are seen. Whatever it is, it's real, whether you like it or not... It's undeniably authentic. Come on up to the mountain, it's good for the soul!"
